Gift Aid

Making your money go further....

Gift Aid ItWe are always extremely grateful for your donations and support of Wakefield Hospice, but did you know that we can increase your generosity, by around a quarter, at no extra cost to you?

Q. What is Gift Aid?

A. For every £1 donated, we will receive an extra 28p from the Inland Revenue. It can apply to donations of any amount, regardless of how it is paid (cash, cheque, credit card, standing order) - at no additional cost to you. We do not need to know your personal tax details, just your full address and a declaration. If you are a higher-rate tax payer, you can also claim tax-relief on your donation for the difference between the basic and higher rate.

Use this simple calculator to work out the cost to you, and the benefit to us, of a donation with Gift Aid.

My UK income tax status is:

I'd like to donate: £
You donate: £ 0.00
We can claim from HMRC: £ 0.00
In your tax return, you can claim tax relief of: £ 0.00
Total cost to you: £ 0.00
Total benefit to us: £ 0.00

Q. Am I eligible for Gift Aid?

A. Anyone who has paid enough Income Tax or Capital Gains Tax in the current financial year to cover the amount reclaimed by Wakefield Hospice can use Gift Aid. For example, if you want to make a donation of £100, you will need to have paid at least £28 to the taxman in respect of that tax year.

Q. How do I claim Gift Aid?

A. We need your permission to be able to claim Gift Aid on your donations. By completing and returning the form below, you will become an active member of the Gift Aid scheme.

You need only fill this form in once to ensure that all future donations are gift aided. So, although it should only take a few minutes, the effects will be present for a long time to come.

Gift Aid Form

If partaking in sponsored events, there is a section on the sponsor form to indicate whether or not your sponsors would like us to claim Gift Aid on their pledge - if they choose this option, please ensure all their details are completed in full, otherwise we cannot claim the tax back!
