Volunteer Testimonial (Francis McAvoy)
Francis is a Volunteer Caretaker at the Hospice
"Working as a volunteer at the hospice is always a rewarding experience and one that I have enjoyed immensely. I have given my time to the caretakers for over 3 years and it has shown me what a special place the hospice is to work in and I feel proud to have been a part of it. I have always been made to feel welcome and appreciated. Not once did I ever feel that I was a burden. My duties at the hospice are mainly to assist the two caretakers with their jobs in and around the hospice community. This can be anything from helping with the hospice ambulance to washing windows. It is always different and no activity ever feels like a chore. Working alongside the caretakers has also meant that I have worked with or assisted every department within the hospice itself. This has helped me to appreciate the work the hospice does on many levels and from many angles. But, it has also meant that I have made many friendships throughout the hospice and I always look forward to the time that I spend there."
