"HEAR YE, HEAR YE!"
Wakefield Hospice is calling all local folk to participate in the 2012 Midnight Walk, taking place on Saturday 8th September!
To celebrate Wakefield being the 'Merrie City' this years walk will have a medieval theme. Before the walk sets off enjoy medieval entertainment along with the more modern sounds from Styletrax Disco! Fancy dress is optional but make sure you encourage family and friends to participate - the more the MERRIER!
Early bird registration costs £15 per person (registering by Friday 31st August) or on the night costs £20.
Your registration fee includes:
- 2012 Merrie Midnight Walk T-shirt
- Walkers pack, including bottled water
- Tea/Coffee and bacon buttie (or veg option) on completion of the walk
- 2012 certificate for completing the walk
Choose from our two routes - six mile or ten mile.
Celebrate Your Shining Star...
This year both routes will pass Sandal Castle which will be a site of reflection for our walkers. The setting of this medieval castle ruins will provide the opportunity to release a lantern into the night sky, to celebrate the shining stars in our lives. This can be in remembrance of a loved one or in appreciation of the care shown at Wakefield Hospice. As the lanterns are released we hope that they will be seen by our midnight walkers, to encourage them on their way.
If you are unable to participate in the midnight walk and would like a lantern set off on your behalf by our team then please call the fundraising office on 01924 213900.
WE NEED YOUR SPONSORSHIP! Your registration fee ONLY covers our costs of staging this event, so we rely on your sponsorship to raise much needed funds for Wakefield Hospice. ALL participants are required to get sponsored for joining in the midnight walk. We will provide you with everything you need once you've registered and our fundraising team are on hand to support you!
