Thank you!
The famous Wakefield Hospice 10k took place at Clarence Park on the 3rd April 2011 and saw over 1,500 runners turn out to raise funds for the Hospice!
The event fell on a glorious sunny Sunday morning, perfect weather for our 10k and 1k runners as they took to the streets of Wakefield in an attempt to raise £24,000.
Winners of the 10k race were reining winners Mark Warmby of Newham and Essex Beagles and Helen Singleton of Wakefield Harriers.
However, the event turned out to be more successful than we could have ever hoped for! With the help of the local community, businesses and schools, the event has raised a staggering £32,100 and a further £1700 from gift aid which will be a massive contribution to providing our patients and their families with the care that they deserve. THANK YOU!
The Hospice would like to also thank Harratts of Wakefield and WMDC for their continued support and again to all the volunteers that made the event possible.
The date has already being set for next year as Sunday 25th March 2012 and we would love for you to join us. We hope to encourage as many people as possible to run, jog or walk either the 10k or fun run for your local hospice! This event really is for everyone!
