You are warmly invited to our annual Ladies Lunch event, which this year is hosted by Pat Langham and we welcome Chief Constable Dee Collins as our special guest.

Following a two course meal at the Cedar Court Hotel, Wakefield, Pat will host a lively and engaging interview with Dee to find out more about what it's like to hold the highest ranking title within West Yorkshire Police and being the first woman to do so.

Chief Constable Dee Collins has had a fascinating journey, working her way to the top role.  She was the first female Armed Response Officer for Cleveland Police, was the force gender champion for Cumbria Constabulary and has led nationally on age issues whilst working for Derbyshire Constabularly.  She has worked as a frontline British Police Officer for over 30 years and will also be discussing the enormous changes that have occured within the force, in this time.

Currently Dee is President of the British Association of Women in Policing and the International Association of Women in Policing. It is well documented that she has worked tirelessly for gender equality within the force - with particular emphasis on the rights for LGBT Officers.

In addition to this Dee is a wife, mother of two and has had her own personal battle with cancer, following a diagnosis of breast cancer in 2009, for which she had to receive treatment.

Wakefield Hospice is extremely grateful to both Chief Constable Dee Collins and MC Pat Langham for giving their time free of charge to this event, allowing Wakefield Hospice patients to benefit from every ticket sold.

Tickets can be purchased individually - please note that parties of less than 10 will be seated with other guests.

If you have any questions about the lunch please contact Fiona Day on 01924 331404 or by emailing fiona.day@wakefieldhospice.co.uk
