Wakefield 10k and Mini Run 2020 - Important Update

It has been a difficult decision but after considerable advice from Public Health England, UK Athletics and our race referee, Wakefield Hospice will be postponing the forthcoming 10k and mini run on Sunday 20 September.  The health and safety of our runners, volunteers and staff will always be our priority and we will not compromise the public wellbeing. The course and facilities are not suitable for social distancing requirements to be met therefore we do not feel it is practical to stage the event in September.

The new date for the Wakefield Hospice 10k & Mini Run is Sunday 21 March 2021

We hope you will be able to take part on Sunday 21 March, if you are there is no need to take any further action, your entry will carry over and we will send you a new race pack in the New Year.

However, if you can’t take part on the new scheduled date then please email – subject – ‘10k refund’ and a full refund will be arranged.

As you will appreciate our fundraising events have been impacted hugely by Covid-19 which has forced us to cancel and postpone events. The 10k is our biggest fundraising event which usually raises over £70,000 for patient care at the hospice and we are so disappointed that we cannot stage the event as planned.

If you are not able join us on 21 March and would like to donate your entry fee we would be very grateful and the Card Factory Foundation has agreed to match any entry fees donated with a one off donation. If you would like to donate your entry fee please email – subject – ‘10k donate’ by 31 August. Thank you.

We would like to thank our event sponsor the Card Factory Foundation for their continued support.

Thank you for bearing with us as during this difficult time and for your continued support of Wakefield Hospice.
