You may need the specialist care of our in-patient team if you have pain or symptoms that are complex or difficult to manage at home. It may be that your pain is not physical, but is psychological or spiritual in nature. Through specialist knowledge and skills, the Hospice staff will work with you and your family to relieve your symptoms and reduce your fears and anxieties.

The in-patient unit (IPU) consists of 8 single en suite bedrooms and two four beded ward areas. The in-patient team comprises of doctors, nurses, therapists, social worker, chaplain and complementary therapists. They will work alongside you to identify your needs and priorities, and will individualise your care to provide you with maximum quality of life and relief.

We operate a visiting period of 9.00am - 8.30pm or by arrangement and agreement with the nursing staff.

To access the IPU
Your GP, Macmillan Nurse, Clinical Nurse Specialist in Palliative Care or Hospital Palliative Care Team can refer you into our IPU service. It is possible to visit the Hospice prior to agreeing to a referral.
