Festive Fundraising

Thank you for supporting our work over the festive period. Our nurses work around the clock at Christmas and throughout the year to care for people who are too ill to be at home. We’re able to provide this high quality care to local families because of your support. Read on to find out about all the different ways you can help, from buying Christmas cards to taking part in our festive fun run.

Light up a Life
Celebrate the memory of a loved one by sponsoring a light on the Tree of Lights and attend one of our special services. Each name will appear in the Book of Christmas Blessings and we’ll send you a personalised card for your dedication.
Christmas Craft & Gift Fair
Come along to Cedar Court Hotel, Wakefield, on Sunday 13 November for a fantastic selection of Christmas gift ideas. Parking and entry are free. All our exhibitor spaces are fully booked so you’ll be able to browse more than 60 stalls.
Santa Dash in the City
Join us on Sunday 3 December for the first ever Wakefield City Santa Dash! Starting and finishing at Trinity Walk, this one-mile fun run is open to all ages and abilities. Walk, jog, run or jingle all the way around our pram- and wheelchair-friendly route. Places are limited and filling fast, so please book early to avoid disappointment.
Christmas Trees
Our Nordic non-drop firs come in various sizes from 5ft to 7ft. Order and pay online, then come along to choose the tree you want from the appropriate size selection.
You can also order a Christmas wreath, and even book to have your tree collected and recycled after Christmas!
Christmas Cards
Choose from our range of eight designs. Each pack has 10 cards and envelopes, and all the cards carry a message on the back to show that they've been bought to support Wakefield Hospice.
Ask everyone to write their greeting on our over-sized card and make a donation to Wakefield Hospice. The card is big enough for everyone in the office, classroom or shared area to sign.
Personalise an e-card of your choice with your own seasonal message and email it to colleagues, family and friends. Choose from 13 Christmas images from a range kindly donated by Philip Johnson of Oak Publishing and artist Helen Thomas.
Gifts of Kindness
Make a donation towards a specific aspect of our work and receive a gift card and tag to pass on to the recipient. From a patient meal for £6 to a bereavement support session for £35, each gift helps us provide high quality care.
Letter from Santa
Make your child’s Christmas more magical with a Letter from Santa. Every letter is personalised and comes with an activity sheet and a certificate of good behaviour.
Christmas Prize Draw
Buy or sell our raffle tickets and return the stubs by 9 December for the chance to win a trip to Las Vegas, a helicopter flight, a cordless Dyson and much more.
Lottery Gift Vouchers
The Wakefield Hospice weekly lottery is a great way to support our work – why not buy gift vouchers for friends and family to join? Vouchers start at just £5 and the weekly jackpot is £25,000.
