Giving Tuesday

This #GivingTuesday we are giving thanks to all the people who make a daily difference to our hospice.

GivingTuesday 2019

Last year, Wakefield Hospice took part in its very first #GivingTuesday campaign.  As well as a great buzz on the day, it helped catapult our fundraising campaign for a new dishwasher.

The concept of #GivingTuesday is to provide an antidote to the mass consumerism of Black Friday and aims to get people thinking of others in the run up to Christmas and since its inception in 2014, it has become one of the biggest events in the global charity calendar.

This year, as we approach the hospice’s 30th anniversary, we are turning the focus on to the people who have helped, supported and contributed in different ways over the last 30 years, keeping the hospice at the heart of the community.

On the day (Tuesday 3rd December), we will be thanking the people and groups who make a daily difference to the hospice so please do join in by liking and sharing the stories.

But we don’t just want to tell our stories.

You too can get involved, both before and on the day itself through #MyGivingStory

#MyGivingStory is a storytelling campaign that encourages people to share how and why they give, be that donating money, time, skills or goods, helping to demonstrate how easy it is to support Wakefield Hospice and highlight the different ways people can give.

It’s as easy as 1, 2, 3!

1. Create your post/tweet or short video.
2. Share on social media using the hashtag #MyGivingStory (facebook,         twitter, Instagram or LinkedIn). Don’t forget to tag @WfldHospice and         GivingTuesday may share your story!
3. If you know someone else who has a #MyGivingStory to tell, tag and
nominate them to share their story too.
