Leaving a Gift in Your Will

It won't cost you a penny now, but will make a big difference in the future.
Debby Veigas, Ward Sister

'My dad, Peter was cared for by Wakefield Hospice.  We had wonderful support when we needed it most, and I hope the hospice is around for many more years for other families.'  Rachael Crookes

Caring for future generations

You can help care for generations to come by remembering Wakefield Hospice in your Will. Many people choose to leave a gift to their favourite charity – it’s easy to arrange and anyone can do it. Your gift will help ensure that families facing serious illnesses in the future can receive the best possible care when there’s no cure.

Your gift could help ensure that local people – perhaps your family, friends and neighbours – can be cared for as you would wish. The hospice is a registered charity and three quarters of its funding comes from voluntary sources so, large or small, every gift helps. By leaving just 1% of what’s left after you’ve taken care of friends and family, you can make a difference.

Your gift will be used carefully wherever the need is greatest, to make life better for families affected by life-limiting illnesses. Below are some practical examples of the type of support your gift could provide.
£25 - One hour of nursing care
£35 - Bereavement support session
£500 - Fund the entire hospice for an hour
£1,076 - Syringe driver to deliver pain relief
£1,200 - Medical supplies for one month

If your gift is in memory of a loved one, you may wish to instruct your solicitor to note this in your Will. You’re also welcome to tell us now. Either way, it means we can enter your loved one’s name in our Book of Remembrance. This special book is displayed in the hospice’s chapel.
