Tribute Funds

A Tribute Fund is a simple and lasting way to remember a loved one.

What is a Wakefield Hospice Tribute Fund?

Bereavement is one of the hardest things anyone has to face, but finding a lasting way to remember the person can be of great comfort. A Wakefield Hospice Tribute Fund can be set up in your loved one's memory and can be a wonderful way to honour and celebrate the life of someone special.

A Wakefield Hospice Tribute Fund is a positive and simple way to remember someone special. Named after the person you wish to remember, for example "In Memory of David Leach", you are creating a lasting tribute in their memory.

Find out more about Tribute Funds by reading about how Zoe Morris's family and friends are remembering her with a year of fundraising. Read more.

How to help your Tribute Fund grow

Once created the Tribute Fund is permanent and there are no restrictions on how much or how often a donation is made. You, your friends and family may choose to donate on special occasions, such as birthdays and anniversaries. Other ways to grow your fund include taking part in our Hospice fundraising events or doing your own fundraising. However you choose to grow your fund and when, is entirely up to you.

How your Tribute Fund will help Wakefield Hospice

You can be assured that every pound raised for your loved one's Tribute Fund will help the Hospice continue to care for patients and their families. Funds raised in memory of loved ones make a big difference to our work, enabling us to provide free, high quality support for local people facing serious illness. Donations given in honour of loved ones help to run our Day Therapy Unit, inpatient ward and bereavement service.

How to set up a Tribute Fund

You can set up a Tribute Fund in several ways, and they’re all great ways to support our work while remembering your loved one. Once your fund is active, anyone can view and contribute to the fund from wherever they are in the world. A Tribute Fund is a great way to get friends and family involved.
You can set up your Tribute Fund as a ‘Someone Special’ page on the Virgin Money Giving website, or as an ‘In Memory’ page on the Just Giving website. These websites are popular ways of supporting Wakefield Hospice. You’ll be able to add photos and a story, and donors can leave messages. We receive the donations on a weekly basis.
Alternatively, you can set up a simple Tribute Fund on the Wakefield Hospice website by contacting our fundraising team or by clicking the link below.
If you’d like to talk through the options before deciding which is best for you, please call Clare Kemsley, our Legacy & In Memory Fundraiser, on 01924 213 900 or email
