WH Training are pleased to announce this 2-day training course designed to provide a safe but intensive learning experience using the Connected© model of training. During the course, you will have the opportunity to explore the evidence base relating to professional communication, examine the challenges for health care professionals involved in complex interactions and consider the impact for patients and families.
Important points to know piror to attending the course:
This Advanced Communication Skills Course is participant centred, including the use of a participant generated agenda. It is led by experienced education facilitators with clinical backgrounds in Specialist Palliative and End of Life Care. Due to its experiential content, this can by its nature trigger strong personal emotions. In view of this, we would suggest that you consider any recent significant or stressful life events, such as a close bereavement or current mental health issues, prior to attendance.
Topics will include:
• Discussing indications for starting the use of a syringe driver
• The uses of syringe pumps in palliative care
• Commonly used drugs used in the end of life care
• Setting up and monitoring a Mckinley T34 and Bodyguard T pump
• Converting oral to continuous subcutaneous infusion
• A demonstration and practical actitivty
