Introduction to the end of life care and recognising dying. in people living with long-term conditions

Topics will include:
• What is palliative care and end of life care
• A brief overview of the principles underpinning end of life care
• How to work collaboratively with other professionals involved in the person’s end of life care
• Managing expectations
• Communication
• Patient centered approach, identifying priorities of care
• How to recognise own needs and develop strategies to support self-care and build resilience

Suitable for:
Any Health and Social Care Support Workers who have not previously studied within this area

Format:
The day will include presentations and group discussions.

Duration:
Three hour session.
10:00 -13:00
