Help celebrate thirty years of hospice care in Wakefield

2020 is the 30th anniversary of Wakefield Hospice and we are proud to present a brand new commemorative rose to celebrate three decades of sharing the care for local families.
Our 30th anniversary rose has been designed and handcrafted in Yorkshire exclusively for Wakefield Hospice to mark this special year.

The rose is sculpted in stainless steel and hand-painted in the pinks and yellows of a beautiful sunrise. The design reflects the Sunrise Rose which was created to mark the hospice’s 20th anniversary.

The roses have been produced in a limited edition run of 300, and are available on a ‘first come, first served’ basis for a suggested donation of £100. We hope the appeal will raise £30,000 to help fund patient care in the hospice's anniversary year.
Dedicate a rose to someone special
We invite you to dedicate a rose in memory of a loved one, to keep as a lasting tribute to them and as an acknowledgement of your kind involvement in the hospice.
You will receive your rose in a presentation box together with a card showing your loved one’s name. Their name will also be displayed with your dedication message on a special page on the hospice's website. Click here to view the dedications.

Anyone can dedicate a rose, even if you don’t have a link to the hospice. You’re welcome to dedicate a rose whether you’ve been bereaved recently or some time ago. Roses can be dedicated by an individual, a family, or a group of friends or colleagues.
Please join us in celebrating 30 years of hospice care in Wakefield as we look to the future. For the last three decades the community of Wakefield has provided hospice care to local families. With your support, the hospice will continue providing the best possible care to patients and their loved ones in the coming months and years to follow.

Please note
The 300 roses are subject to availability on a ‘first come, first served’ basis. We ask supporters to make a suggested donation of £100 to receive a rose.

The rose is a decoration. It can be displayed outside but it may weather with the passing of the seasons.

Each rose is approx 36cm long and the bloom is approx 9cm wide.

Delivery of Roses
Due to corona virus restrictions, we will post your Rose to you when we are able to. We invite you to add a suggested optional amount of £5 to your donation to cover postage costs.

If you have already dedicated a Rose and selected the option to collect it, we will contact you to discuss alternative arrangements.

Please bear with us while we are in lockdown as we may not be able to dispatch your Rose for several weeks.
Thank you
Your donation will help provide the highest quality care for people with life-limiting illness. Three quarters of the hospice’s funding comes from charitable sources and its services are only available because of your generosity. With your help, the hospice will care for around 350 inpatient admissions and 3,800 day therapy attendances during our anniversary year.
Special thanks
We are very grateful to Minster Law for sponsoring our 30th Anniversary Rose. Our thanks also go to Simpson Packaging for donating the presentation boxes for the 300 roses and Woodside Metalworks for producing the beautiful roses.
