Wakefield Hospice patients and families need YOUR SUPPORT so please think about joining the volunteer team. It’s a great way to share the care of people who are important to us. Please think about the way you spend your spare time and make a change by volunteering.

In a busy world, everyone’s time is precious, especially for those families receiving Hospice care. By sharing just a little of yours, you can help us to deliver the best care we can. Volunteers come from all walks of life and bring their own skills and experiences. Their commitment varies but is usually on a regular basis, at a mutually convenient time (minimum age is 16, 18 in areas of patient care). Volunteers work alongside our staff members in most areas of the Hospice, in our warehouse and shops and in our local fundraising groups. They also help at Fundraising events which are held throughout the year.

We are particularly looking for help at our warehouse and furniture shop at Thornes. This is where the care actually begins – we have to accept, sort and distribute our donations for sale so that we can raise the crucial funds for patient care. We need people who are physically fit to support our van drivers, and people who love giving great customer service to those buying larger items. If you fit either bill, please get in touch.
