Join our incredible Dark Peak Challenge an Extreme Road Cycling Challenge for the very brave!
We have three routes which take in the highlights of the 2014 Tour de France Yorkshire Route. The event sponsored by SB Wakefield starts in Wakefield and heads out to Holmfirth to take on the Holme Moss Climb, Snake Pass and the The Strines. The punishing 72 mile route was praised by cyclist last year for be a gruelling but highly satisfying challenge.
There are two alternative routes you can take on the – 45 mile route which returns to Wakefield following Holme Moss or the moderate 23 mile route which takes in the beautiful local countryside while offering a high level of challenge. The cost of taking part are:

All cyclists that succeed in completing the challenge will receive a souvenir t-shirt. We provide chip timing for the route as well as stocked feed stations, mechanical support and a fully sign posted course. Nuffield Health kindly provide free entry to their changing rooms and spa facilities for everyone who finished.
We are now delighted to provide bike hire for The Dark Peak.
Thanks to Raleigh every penny of the bike hire charges will be going directly to patient care here at Wakefield Hospice. We have three types of bike:
ALLOY RACE BIKE WITH CARBON FORKS - £40
CARBON BIKE - £30
HYBRID BIKE - £25
Every bike hired will be fully serviced, cleaned and fitted to your specification. All bikes are fitted with standard pedals and we are happy to fit your own pedals free of charge.
