All cyclists need the information sheet which contains all the vital information for taking part.
Can I have a map?
We have overview maps of the route and these will be available at registration. They do not provide too much detail as the route covers such a distance. However, it is important cyclists familiarise themselves with the route and you can view these in details ahead of the event here:

Our Dark Peak Sportive will run once again on Sunday 27th September 2015.
This popular and extremely challenging cycle will return again in 2015 - taking on some of the toughest road cycling in Yorkshire. WE NEED YOU to pedal for patient care and raise £££s in this extreme road cycling challenge.

Update: We have had to reroute our course to avoid Holmfirth this year. The new route includes spectacular Wessenden Moor and Digley Reservoir en route to Holme Moss. If fact now we’ve made the change we don’t know why we didn’t go that way to begin. This now means the Extreme Route is 79 miles and the Hard Route 57.

In 2015 we will be offering 2 routes; approx. 79 miles and 57 miles.
The Extreme Route is 79 mile route, this starts in Wakefield before heading out to Holme Moss before taking on Snake Pass and then The Strines. Due to a route change this route is now 79 miles.
The Hard Route is 57 miles; this starts in Wakefield heads out to Holme Moss before returning to Wakefield via some challenging climbs. Due to a route change this route is now 57 miles.
Please note these routes are extremely challenging and cyclists need to have experience and train for these events in advance.

We are delighted that Former World Champion Yvonne McGregor MBE will be joining this year’s sportive to take on The Dark Peak Challenge.
Wakefield Hospice provide a signed route from start to finish, chip timing, excellent feed stations along the route as well as back up mechanical support and event photography. All finishers receive a unique ‘I Conquered The Dark Peak’ t-shirt.
