Lottery grant

Wakefield Hospice is delighted and honoured to announce that we've recently been successful in a bid to the Big Lottery Fund; Awards for All programme.
The fund is responsible for giving out 40% of the money raised by National Lottery players for good causes and Wakefield Hospice is thrilled to receive £8913 which will be used to equip our new family room on the ward.
There is currently nowhere like it in the hospice. The room will be fitted to create a non-threatening, non-clinical environment, especially for children and young people, ensuring a comfortable setting whilst giving them the opportunity to interact with their family members in a relaxed atmosphere. We can also purchase new technology and equipment specifically for patients with a dementia diagnosis to facilitate independent cognitive function and trigger memories and helping with rehabilitation.
By converting this, currently little used, space, we can provide a haven with numerous benefits to patients and their families giving a better quality of life and care and sincerely thank Awards for All for making this possible.
