Donate to the hospice
We rely on donated items to provide the essential funding for the Wakefield Hospice. With your generosity, we can continue the vital care of patients and their families at a most difficult time.
We need your donations

Due to lack of storage we can only accept small amounts of donated items dropped into our shops, however we are able to accept donations of all sizes at our Donation Centre on Tadman Street (address below). It is no longer necessary to book an appointment, you can bring your donations anytime whilst we are open:

If you are considering making a donation of goods, please read the helpful guidelines below about what can and cannot be accepted at the warehouse.

Please also check your items before donating. They should be in good condition, with all parts intact and in working order if appropriate.

We are able to offer collection for large items of furniture. Please contact us on 01924 383988 during office hours, Monday to Friday to arrange a collection.

Furniture collection service

Gratefully accepted:

 
  • Good  quality clothing - ladies, men’s and children’s
  • Good  quality footwear, handbags, accessories and jewlery
  • Furniture, homewares, electrical and white goods that are in good condition and working order             
  • Books, CDs and DVDs that are in good condition and working order
  • Antiques  and valuable items which can be auctioned on eBay or suitable for our vintage shop


We are unable to accept the following items due to either safety legislation or storage:

 

  • Divan beds, mattresses, duvets and pillows UNLESS unused and in their original packaging
  • Upholstered furniture that does not comply with safety regulations and has no fire retardant labelling
  • Dining tables without chairs, glass TV stands, wall and corner units
  • Children’s pushchairs and car seats
  • Curtain poles and blinds
  • Crash helmets, cycle helmets, visors and riding hats
  • Cookers, gas fires or gas appliances, oil burners, heaters, petrol lawn mowers
  • Electric blankets and hot water bottles
  • Christmas trees and decorations
  • Videos
  • Fur clothing
  • Weapons (including knives)


We can collect large items of furniture by appointment. Please call 01924 383988 during normal office hours to arrange a collection.
