Wakefield Hospice Celebrates 30 Years of Care with Commemorative Rose

Wakefield Hospice has launched an exclusive anniversary rose sculpture as a way to commemorate its thirtieth year of care and compassion:  a strictly limited number of these are available to the public now, and can be ordered via the hospice website or by phone.
These glorious roses, produced by Woodside Metalworks, are made from the finest and most enduring materials, with hand-painted petals in pinks and yellows depicting a beautiful sunrise. The design of the ‘Sunrise Rose’ was originally created to mark the 20th anniversary of the hospice in 2010, and it was decided to bring the idea to life 10 years later as a sculpture, to mark the 30th anniversary.

The hospice is inviting people to buy a rose either in memory of a loved one who has spent time at the hospice, or in support of hospice care for future. The rose is offered in a splendid presentation box, with the name of your loved one on an accompanying card if appropriate. The hospice will display these names and a short message from the donor on their website as a testament to the love and care which has been provided over the years.

CEO of Wakefield Hospice, Tina Turner, said: “We wanted to do something very special to mark our 30th year; these unique and beautiful roses will bring joy to so many people, and can be kept as a lasting tribute to a loved one for years to come. For the last three decades we have been generously supported by the community of Wakefield to provide hospice care to local families: it’s a privilege to be able to help people at such a critical point in their lives. I’m so glad that we can offer people such a touching tribute to their friends and families, and one which also helps to ensure that we’re able to offer the best possible care to this community for future generations.”

300 roses are available, on a ‘first come, first served’ basis, with a suggested minimum donation of £100. They can be dedicated by an individual, a family, or a group of friends or colleagues.

Tina added: “We are extremely grateful to Minster Law for sponsoring our 30th Anniversary Rose; and our thanks also go to Simpson Packaging for donating the presentation boxes for the 300 roses.”
